Missions

If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.  --Isaiah 58:10

The Missions Ministry of Peace Community Church meets monthly* and is responsible for recommending missionaries for approval by the church Council, classifying each missionary, and setting financial support. In addition, several yearly mission trips are planned to assist current missionaries in the field. A minimum of twelve members serve on this team.

• Obey the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)
• Provide leadership through the operation of the Missions Ministry
• Develop missions strategy for the church
• Make policies and procedures for operation for mission trips
• Educate the congregation in missions
• Develop prayer support
• Support missionaries spiritually, financially, and emotionally
• Provide practical assistance to missionaries while they are on the field and on home assignment, and to include hosting a luncheon/time of fellowship at Peace Community Church
• Carry out suitable promotion and awareness of missions
• Plan an annual Mission Emphasis Sunday event
• Plan an annual Compassion Sunday event
• Plan an annual SOHLS event (Sanctity of Human Life Sunday)
• Prepare and administer the missions budget
• Assist in developing missions stewardship
• Equip and enable individuals for personal involvement
• Conduct short-term missions trips
• Recruit and help prepare missionary candidates from the congregation
• Serve as liaison with individuals sent and supported
• Develop relationships with our denomination missions leaders
• Serve as liaison with mission agencies
